Very Fast Way to Stop Spam Texts

How to Stop Spam

How to Stop Spam
Most of you have also received unwanted spam texts too, so I know you share my frustration! While some recommend replying "STOP," I'm not convinced that doing this would work and not, say, alert the offender of your working cell phone number.

Since most spam texts are generated from the Internet, you can block all Internet texts from reaching your phone by going on your network provider's messaging website and changing your preferences. I went to AT&T's messaging center, checked some boxes to block texts sent to my mobile phone's email address and was done.

Consumers could be deluged with spam text messages unless the Commerce Commission has a change of heart and lets mobile phone companies charge other telcos a token amount for routing texts to their customers, Vodafone and the Telecommunications Users Association have warned. Text spam was a "small but growing problem" that the commission risked exacerbating, it said.

Vodafone suggested that carriers should instead be allowed to charge a 1 cent fee for all incoming texts. Phone companies were charging next to nothing for texts under some plans now, overseas carriers were offering unlimited texts and he did not believe termination charges applied to incoming texts from overseas, he said.

It also called for the commission to monitor prices to ensure those cuts – but not termination charges payable to mobile phone companies – were passed on to customers. 2degrees called for cuts to mobile termination fees to take effect immediately. It said phone companies should also be banned from charging customers a lower price to call phones on their own network and a higher price to call phones on other networks.
